UGC NET Admit Card 2021 Released: Download Here. The National Testing Agency (NTA) today released the UGC-NET admit cards for exams scheduled for  on their  official website — ugcnet.nta.nic.in.  Admit Card is Available only for the Exam Date 20th and 21th Nov. 2021, For other Exam Date will Available soon. English Literature exam will be conducted on  (01.12.2021, Wednesday). UGC NET Admit Card 2021: How to download? Applicants need to visit the official site of NTA UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. And then click on UGC NET Admit Card 2020 link which will be available on the home page. And then a new page will open where applicants need to enter their login credentials. First published in 1798, Lyrical Ballads, with a Few Other Poems is a collection of poems by William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. And is widely accepted as an important piece of literature. This blog post is a collection of few points that you should know as a Literature major.

Important Points

  • Coleridge contributed only four poems in the 1798 edition and Wordsworth wrote the most.

  • In the first edition (1798) there were nineteen poems written by Wordsworth and four poems by Coleridge.

  • In the year 1800 a second edition was published with a preface and some more poems by Wordsworth.

  • In the year 1802, a third edition was published.

  • In the year 1805, fourth edition was published.

  • Scholars considers the publication of Lyrical Ballads as a signal of the beginning of English Romanticism.

  • Coleridge’s “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” and Wordsworth’s “Tintern Abbey,” are two of the very famous poems included in the collection.

  • “Spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings” and his theory that poetry should be written in “the language really used by men.” This famous definition of poetry can be seen in the preface in the second edition.

  • Although Wordsworth wrote most of the poems, Coleridge is sometimes listed as the first author.

  •  'The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere' was the first poem in the volume, and is also the longest.

  • “Lines Composed a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey is the final poem in Lyrical Ballads.

  • Lyrical Ballad is mentioned in Coleridge's Biographia Literia.
